He walked into our yard one day
And left paw prints on the ground.
A rag-tag looking gray tomcat
That had clearly been around.
With matted coat and plaintive cry,
He left paw prints in our world.
And though at first we said he could not stay,
On our doorstep we found him curled.
We hoped to keep him by our side,
But such was not to be.
He left paw prints on our wounded hearts,
But even more ~~ sweet memories!
He left soft paw prints on our souls
When he left this world behind.
He's crossed the Rainbow Bridge, you see,
Warmth and happiness he'll find.
Oh, Kitty-Boy, we miss you,
And Your paw prints here and there.
And sometimes we even find ourselves
Whispering a prayer.
Dear God, look out for Kitty-Boy,
We miss him very much.
For now he leaves his paw prints
Beyond our earthly touch.
We know that we will see him,
When our time comes around.
And someday soon his paw prints,
We'll see on holy ground!
