I seem to recall, DD, that when you were trying to trap Bobtail Kitty and her babies (do I have that right? I know there were a bunch of cats and kittens, but I think it was Bobtail Kitty and her babies), you had trouble with the light weight of the kittens not letting the trap spring shut.
I've borrowed three live traps to try and catch five kittens that appear to be about 8-12 weeks old. Every time I put food inside, they walk in, eat, and walk out, without setting off the thing to shut the door.
How did you finally get your live trap to work for kittens? HELP! _________________

KM, add a little weight to the release spring, but not enough to make it close. Hopefully, the little extra weight of the kittens will then cause it to snap shut. _________________

Oh, gosh. I don't remember what we did! We didn't have to trap Bobtail, she always wanted to belong to us, but we did use the trap on her kids, I think. Weight has never been an issue with Silas and Zeus! We actually had the trap to catch Mollie... you know... I just answered my own question. I was about to say "and her siblings", but that is why we never caught her siblings. They could walk in and out of the trap. I think trapping Mollie scared them off, so we never needed to formulate a solution.
Sorry! |

Well, the kittens have gone "poof" now, so we either scared them off or someone else caught them. *sigh* _________________
