Kitty Haven Posting Guidelines

The following are not so much RULES as they are Posting GUIDELINES. Please try to follow the guidelines as closely as possible, and if there are any problems, we're here to help you. But if you make any mistakes, we're a very understanding bunch. There is NO "Zero Tolerance" Policy here at Kitty Haven -- although we will not tolerate people with the sole intention of damaging, disrupting or destroying the board. Those individuals will be reported to Ezboard Legal AND to their individual ISPs.

Kitty Haven is a safe, fun, educational message board for cat owners and lovers to discuss their pets, possibly learn something, and hopefully share some helpful information with other members.

Although our primary focus is on "Special Needs" Cats and Kittens, particularly those that have tested positive for FeLV and/or FIV, we are open to discussion about all aspects of feline partnership and relationships. Young or old, fat or thin, sick or healthy, you're welcome to stop in and talk about your furry friends!

Our rules are intended to help make Kitty Haven a comfortable and pleasant place to post, not create unreasonable restrictions that stifle conversation.

SPECIAL NOTE: Always be careful when clicking on ANY links. Kitty Haven assumes no responsiblity for the safety and security of any link posted in a message or used in any signature. Before clicking on any link, please make sure your Antivirus is up to date. Running Ad-Aware at least once a week is also a good idea. It is also advisable to only click on links if you trust the person who posted them.

1. Differences of opinions are welcome. This is human nature. Not everyone thinks and acts the same. There are almost as many personal opinions in the world as there are people. However, personal attacks (FLAMING) of other members AND/OR THEIR OPINIONS is not allowed! You can disagree with someone, or with their opinions, with grace, tact and diplomacy. This board is a place for friendly conversation and possible education, it is not to be used as a "war zone". If you are having problems with another member, please resolve it in e-mails or PMs, not on the board. If you feel someone is violating any of Kitty Haven's Guidelines, please contact an Administrator and we will look into the situation for you. Sarcastic, rude and hateful comments will be edited/deleted/removed at the sole discretion of the Administration of Kitty Haven (a copy will be kept on file in a private forum). In extreme cases of FLAMING on the board, you will be reported to ezboard legal for violation of their TOU.

2. The posting of personal information about another member (or anyone else) without their express written permission is NOT acceptable under any circumstances! Posting another person's real name, or any part of it, their e-mail address, their physical address, personal information such as social security number or phone number, or personal photos of them or their family members, WITHOUT THEIR EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION, is in SEVERE violation of ezboards TOU and Kitty Haven's own guidelines, and will be reported both to Ezboard Legal and to your ISP.

3. The posting of any link falls under the Kitty Haven Link Posting Guidelines, which can be accessed HERE. Please read this thoroughly before posting any links at Kitty Haven. This is for your safety, as well as the safety of all members of the board.

4. All cat/kitten related subjects are welcome, provided they are posted in their proper areas. Please try to get your threads in the correct forum, but if something has wandered into the wrong forum, don't worry. Our mods and admins can fix it for you by moving it to the proper forum! We'll leave a "shadow" behind for several days, making it easy to find where it's been moved to.

5. Although it's nice to have threads that stick to the topic they are originally about, we do not go ballistic if/when they go "off course". That's what happens during a normal conversation, and sometimes that's when we learn the most important things. In addition, we want you to enjoy yourself here, not feel like you're in a straightjacket, afraid of breaking one obscure/archaic rule or other. Although, purposely hijacking a thread just to cause problems is discouraged, and repeated violations for the sole purpose of disrupting the board will result in a warning.

6. Detailed signature guidelines can be found HERE. Any signatures that violate these guidelines will result in your posts being edited or deleted, and your account potentially being banned from the board if the situation continues. In extreme cases, you will be reported to ezboard legal for violation of their TOU. So PLEASE read the signature guidelines!

7. The Guidelines for posting photos, or links to photos, can be found HERE and HERE. Please read the Photo Posting and Link Posting Guidelines carefully before posting any photos, or links to any photos. Thank you.

8. Have Fun and Enjoy Kitty Haven!
