kalebsmom: Past, Present and Future

NAME: Kathy

EZBOARD SCREEN NAME: kalebsmom (sometimes Mom2Kaleb)

AGE: Quoted from a favorite old movie, MIRACLE ON 34th STREET: As old as my tongue, and a little bit older than my teeth! LOL

LOCATION: Central Ohio, The Buckeye State

CURRENT PET NAMES AND DESCRIPTIONS:

* Tigger, a brown-gold tiger, female, approx. 5-6 years old.
Adopted as a stray from the woods behind Mama Kit Kat's home.

* Madison, a Trifactor Sable Sheltie, female, about a year old.
She loves cats! Some cats love her...some don't! LOL

FAMILY: Yes

HOBBIES: Dogs, horses, cats. Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Paranormal, Mystical, in books, Movies, Television, etc. Reading a very wide range of books. Crafts. Cooking and baking. Also, camping, riding horses, swimming, hiking, and SLEEPING!!!

PREVIOUS CATS YOU HAVE OWNED AND/OR FOSTERED: Wow. Uh....

* Mama: tabby and white, who came to us out of the blue, had four babies within a month, and found another home with a family that came to look at the kittens after they were all gone. This was back in the 60's.

* Mama (II): calico, who came to us out of the blue, had four babies within a week or two, and found another home with a family that came to look at the kittens after they were all gone. This was also back in the 60's.

(Is anyone seeing a pattern here?)

* Misty: tortiseshell, who "followed me home" from school, had four babies within a month, but we had her for almost seven years (and had her spayed). The vet estimated she was about five when we got her. Twelve doesn't seem too bad for a cat. It would have been very late 60's or very early 70's. Possibly 1970.

* Baby (aka Bebe): long haired black with white markings, who was feral until I cornered her in the woodpile, and dragged her furry butt inside. (I had discovered my mother had been feeding her, and figured if we were stuck with her, we better get her fixed, get her shots, etc.) The vet estimated she was 6-months-old when we got her, and we had her for fourteen years. This was right around 1986 when we took her in.

* Tigger: (See Above)

* Kismet and Karma: Brothers, a gray and white tabby and a buff tabby, their mother was a stray fostered by a friend of mine. My mother took in Kismet last Christmas, and we added Karma less than a week later for companionship, but while we had hoped it would be forever, it has actually been a foster situation, and the boys will soon have their own forever home.

* Isabel: tortiseshell with white, was very pregnant when we took her in. Her babies were born just three days later. She had five sweet little angels! We're hoping she'll soon find her own forever home, as her babies have done.

* Kibo, Patch, Misty, Oz and Boo: Isabel's five babies, all sweet little angels! We found homes for all of them, although Kibo did return to us. She'll soon have her forever home, tho!

DO YOU HAVE (OR HAVE YOU EVER HAD) ANY "SPECIAL NEEDS" KITTIES? IF SO, TELL US ABOUT THEM. Only if you count Bebe, who had cancer at the end.

FAVORITE BREED OF CAT (FERAL and/or HEINZ57 COUNT): Um....any cat that does NOT wake you in the morning by sticking his or her whiskered nose in your half-open mouth.

FAVORITE FICTIONAL CAT OF BOOK, COMIC STRIP, MOVIE, or TELEVISION: I think.....Garfield. I love his life!

FAVORITE CAT "ACTOR": Morris! How many of them have there been? And maybe Sassy, from the HOMEWARD BOUND movies. Oh, yeah! Sassy! What attitude!

FAVORITE MOVIE: Cat related? Or anything? Er.....GONE WITH THE WIND

FAVORITE TV SHOW: THAT 70's SHOW, THE DEAD ZONE, BUFFY, SURVIVOR, STARGATE SG1

FAVORITE BOOK: WATCHERS by Dean R. Koontz

FAVORITE FOOD: Cheese! Particularly, Cheddar Jack and/or Colby Jack cheese! Also, anything with lots of cheese on it or in it! Oh, and BACON! Bacon, bacon, bacon! And anything with bacon on/in it! LOL And green olives! Yum! Green Olives! So, I guess, a pizza with bacon, green olives, extra cheese.....oh, and pepperoni, too. Heaven! (But macaroni and cheese, the old fashion kind with REAL cheese, is probably second!)

FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: Disney World, of course! Because, after all, I am still a child at heart! LOL Besides, I'm terrified of the ocean ever since I saw JAWS for the first time, and while I adore the mountains, after a few days I'm ready to go home. Disney, however, keeps me "hopping" 24/7 for the entire visit!

FACINATING FACT YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME: I am utterly terrified of Spi--spi--spi--, er, "eight legged freeks". LOL

FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR: Autumn, when the trees first change color, before it gets bitter cold and the leaves fall.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER KITTY HAVEN: I created the board for Mama Kit Kat, out of her desire to help special-needs cats and kittens, and to help educate and support all cat lovers and owners around the world.

WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO REMEMBER ABOUT YOU 100 YEARS FROM NOW: She was a good mom!
