I've hired a kitten to replace Brandy. He works cheap but he's a little afraid right now. I think he's feral.

He's been very playful, mainly chasing the balls bought for him yesterday. He's even started showing up when called. I doubt if he knows his name yet but if I can't find him and I call, he will show up shortly.

Last night, I was turning out the lights and Bogart went into the dark living room to play. I didn't feel like chasing him so I decided to let him do whatever he wanted. Within minutes of me turning off the lights in the bed room, he crawled into the bed and went to sleep.

He slept in my lap for a while this evening. Maybe he's getting used to the place. I hope so.

I think he's reached kittenhood, if not, he'll be there soon. I constantly hear this patter of little feet, see a flash go by, hear the patter for a moment more, then he's gone. If he were a step faster, I'm positive he'd be faster than the speed of sound. I've tried to get some "action" photos but he's so quick and I'm so slow with the camera I haven't been able to catch him in the act of pouncing or jumping. All I can manage is the occasional photo while he's asleep. Otherwise, he's gone before I can do anything.

He seems to be doing pretty good. He loves to play. He especially likes to chase someone then after passing them be chased for a while. He cheats, he's got four legs so he's a lot faster than me. He is a playful little cat and seems to strut around as if he thinks he's somebody. He is a fun little critter. He loves to chase and be chased most of all. We'll spend a little time each morning running around the house and usually about half an hour in the evening doing the same thing. He does talk a lot, although not as much as Brandy did. He talks a lot more than most other cats I've been around, though.

Bogart found the Christmas tree shortly after his arrival and enjoys climbing in it. The top parts were taken off but he still likes to sleep in those lying on the floor now, as well as climbing into the section with the tripod base and sleeping in it. Looks like Christmas may be a problem this year.

He's a very big cat, now. I'm hoping he'll stop growing once he reaches 300 to 400 pounds.

Congratulations Bogart!!!
