B and B's Mommy wrote about Breigh:
I would like to nominate Briegh for kitten of the month ... why you might ask? Well, refer to the first picture of her. One look at her and I was a goner. When my Bo died (may be rest in peace) in early March of 2004, my heart was broken, and so was Burrito's (our one remaining cat). Burrito is a little bit on the nervous side, so rather than get another adult cat (which would intimidate him and send him into hiding), we decided on a kitten for him to 'teach' and 'be a big brother' to. I wanted a girl (hopefully), with some sort of gray stripes, and naturally friendly and approachable. And by some type of miracle, Briegh found us, and when we met her, she walked right up to me, rubbed my ankle, and plopped down in front of me. She had picked me, and I was her new mommy. As my husband and I were driving home with her, I held her on my lap. When she fell sound asleep in the car, bumps and all, I knew she was the girl I had always wanted. She got the name Briegh because it's Irish. She was named on St. Patty's Day, 2004.
Over the next few months, Burrito taught Briegh alot, helped mellow her out, and watched over her. They were very close.
When Briegh was 6 months old, we adopted Boston. He had some special needs. She became a true 'mommy' to him, took care of him and taught him right from wrong. They grew very close and were inseparable. She taught him how to eat... To cuddle... And took care of him when he broke his paw last spring...
By now you've figured out that Briegh is a true nurturer. She loves her 'brothers'. She grooms them (if they're in the mood) and plays with them well. And she loves her mama (that would be me). She will lay with me on the couch or on the bed and sleep with me for hours. She'll come in the bathroom and sit on the hamper and watch me get ready for work. She follows me around and makes sure I know she's there by rubbing up against me when she makes an entrance. She's curious, loves to investigate things. She also has learned to play fetch. I throw a paper ball, she fetches it in her little mouth, and she brings it back to me. I always tell her how smart she is!!
Between Burrito, Boston, and Briegh, we're constantly kept busy!
Now I know that the kitty of the month is s'posed to be just pictures of the nominated kitty, but I couldn't help but use pictures that show Briegh's personality. Her taking care of her 'brothers' is who she is.
So here's Briegh in all her glory...her favorite way to relax...she picked this picture for her nomination photo! Seriously! She pawed at it on the screen when she saw herself on the computer!
This is sooo very very long, and I'm sorry for that, but thank you for taking the time to read about our special little girl. She's not only taught me how to be a better cat mom, but she helped me heal a broken heart when I didn't think it was possible. Please vote for her for kitty of the month. We thank you!!
Congratulations Breigh!!!
