Butterfly Wrote about Kiwi:
Kiwi was our little Easter miracle. Kiwi came to us on Easter Monday after a long, sad day for us -
we had just been informed that morning that the original kitten we'd picked out had died due to the
owner's complete stupidity and negligence.
After contacting many different shelters that afternoon with no success, we had given up hope - until
we went out for supper that night and noticed an ad up in our local pet store about kittens for adoption.
I took a number and as soon as we got home, called the number. A woman answered and said she had one
little calico kitten left, so we decided to go see it. Turns out the woman lived litereally 5-6 houses
down he road from us. We got there, and the lady went to get her - and when she brought her out, we fell
instantly in love. The lady warned us that she was very scared and nervous around people - but little
itty-bitty Kiwi walked right up to us and rubbed against our legs. It was then and there that we knew
she was the one for us. We brought her home that very night and after getting home, Craig and I looked
at each other and said at the same time: "Kiwi". She was a teeny-tiny little ball of brown fur - much
like a kiwi-fruit, so that's how she got her name.
Kiwi's been a great little cat since then. She's about nine months old now - and is a little ball of
energy. She's a total lovebug and snuggle-monster. We had some ups and downs at first with her, but
I really couldn't have asked for a better cat. She's my little baby and my joy - I don't know what I'd
do without her now. She sleeps with me under the covers right by my neck everynight and is always by my
side or on my lap giving me head bonks for love and attention. I love my sweet little girl!
Congratulations Kiwi!!!
